BusWise
THIS IS A LIST OF ALL KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THE LAST THREE VERSIONS
Return to Home Page for BusWise
It is unfortunate BUT
When program systems get very big ( BusWise
= 40,000+ lines of code)
there is always a bug that appears in the works - JUST AFTER RELEASE !
If you should see one PLEASE advise support@buswise.net as soon as convenient
so that we can get on to fixing it ASAP.
We apologise for any that escape our testing. We will list them here with
work-arounds or updates as soon as possible.
This file will also contain any relevant information about the last two releases
and should be read with care.
Thank you, The Impala Team BusWise

NOTE 6: V035 July 2010
Upgrade to Version 08v035 - Charter Confirmation.
BUG CORRECTIONs :
This version corrects two bugs :
a) The 11 day bars on the Bus and Driver Selection screens were 1 day late.
b) When displaying a Charter the Destination was sometimes incorrect.
This upgrade ALSO provides the following :
1. The 11day log provided on the Bus selection screen ( when selecting a bus to be
allocated on the WorkSheet ) has been changed from 7 days history plus 4 days future
TO BE 14 days future. The 7 days history is only significant for drivers to ensure
that they are not working beyond the legal maximum number of days and this stays the same.
2. Charter Confirmation Required. This can now be activated by changing the k.)
parameter in the User Parameter Table from N to Y. (Accessed via. SYSTEM / SYS-ADMIN /
Load USER DEFINED PARAMETER Values ) Once set to Y BusWise will require all Charters to
be CONFIRMED before they will be loaded to the WorkSheets. Confirmation is done by
clicking on the -PLUS confirm- check when an INVOICE, EMAIL or DRIVER RUNSHEET is
displayed (and/or printed) for the Charter. This will also ensure that Charters are
not included in a WorkSheet until they have been fully checked and/or edited.
3. When loading the Booking details to a Charter a default Bus ID and/or Driver ID can be
loaded for the Charter. This can be changed on the WorkSheet if necessary. A list of
Buses or Drivers can be displayed to check ID numbers if necessary.
4. All the Charter Listings now include a column showing whether a Charter is confirmed or
not. If the Confirmation process is not activated this column remains blank. This will
facilitate any follow-up procedures that may be required before a Charter is confirmed.
The HELP files have not yet been modified for these additional features but they have
been restructured for Data Loading in Section A3. (see Help Index / DATA - Detailed ....)
NOTE 5: V034 July 2010
Upgrade to Version 08v034 WITH BTA-Extensions if required.
BusWise incorporates a
comprehensive STUDENT MANAGEMENT MODULE for printing of School Bus Passes and managing
other mail-outs (such as Behaviour Issues etc..). Student Passes may also require the completion
of Council or State Travel Application forms. In Queensland, Australia this is
the BTA form controlled by DTMR. The module to enable the capture of these BTA forms is
provided by the BTA-Extensions. The module provides any additional requirements which
are not already included in the STUDENT MODULE and Students are assigned to the BTA form.
BusWise 08v034 must be installed before the BTA-Extensions
will operate correctly. When the BTA menu is selected for the first time the necessary
Tables will be created automatically.
It is NOT necessary to apply the BTA-Extensions if the BTA facilities are not required.
Extensions for other Government interfaces will be developed as they are identified.
NOTE 4: V033 June 2010
Upgrade to Version 08v033
This upgrade adds the LOCATE and SEARCH facility to the STUDENT Module and is only
necessary if the STUDENT module is active.
NOTE 3: V032 May 2010
Upgrade to Version 08v032
This version launches the Student Module. Please ensure that a directory
C:\wamp\www\BWdata\student exists in your system. The code that creates this new directory
has proved unpredictable. Sorry! If this directory is not present then the creation of
the STUDENT LOG FILES will show an error message and the logs will not be created.
The system will not crash.
NOTE 2: V029
Upgrade to Version 07v029 and greater
Once the Upgrade to 029 has been made it is NOT possible to revert to previous versions
of the system ( 07v029 or less will not run without a special program from support) .
NOTE 1: V026
Upgrade to V027, V028 or 029 from any version BEFORE V06v026 :
This situation does not apply to any of our registered or known users.
HOWEVER
If live user data or changed demo data is required when you upgrade to the
MAJOR release of BusWise BW07V027, 028 or 029
the following actions MUST be applied or else the data WILL be corrupted.
If you were running on BW06V026 all is well. No need to read this note any further.
If running a version BEFORE BW06V026 then the upgrade for BW06V026 MUST be applied to
your installation and run at least once.
IF THE DEMO or LIVE SYSTEM THAT YOU HAVE
RUNNING WITH YOUR OWN DATA IS BEFORE 06V026 PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING.
The Upgrade to 07V029 should only be applied to systems that
have successfully run 06V026 a couple of times. If necessary please
Download 06V026 UPDATE (4 Mb file),
install the programs on the system
and run V026 (successful login ensures the execution of the correct
upgrade program). As soon as this has been done the 07V029, 30 and/or 31 upgrade can be
applied.
